Lately, we've been running a lot of news posts about motorcycle legislation here in the U.S. of A. Last week we told you about New Mexico possibly gaining a helmet law, before that it was a bill legalizing lane splitting in Washington. Now there's another bike bill in the state removing the requirement for motorcycle riders over 18 to wear helmets. Washington is currently in the minority of states with helmet laws on the books.

The state's first universal helmet law was repealed in 1977. Motorcycle fatalities doubled very quickly. In 1992, a partial helmet law went into effect, followed by the universal law that now exists.
