Just about any event celebrating art and motorcycles is a win in our book, but bring the two together in the name of a righteous charity and you’ve got something special. Tanks for Troops is just that, an event that highlights the work of the nation’s top motorcycle painters, auctioning off painted halves of fuel tanks, with the proceeds going to the Infinite Hero Foundation, which connects military, veterans, and military family members with treatment programs for service related injuries. This year the event highlighted 24 artists and raised a combined total of more than $32,000 through the silent auction.
The auction for the painted tanks occurred completely online, but there was an in-person event hosted at the Bike Shed Moto Los Angeles to help raise funds and allow attendees to see the work up close. As an added treat, the organizers teamed up with Whisky & Donuts to provide tasting pairings of fine scotches and pastries.
The Good Ride is a charity organization started by Carey Hart that was launched as a way to use motorcycles and the riding community to raise money for veterans. For more information, check out GoodRideRally.com.
