Carey Hart Raises Money For Charity With Custom-Painted Gas Tanks

Gallery of the 22 Indian FTR 1200 tanks auctioned off to benefit Infinite Hero Foundation.

Carey Hart is a freestyle motocross legend—being the first man to do a backflip on a motorcycle is among his many claims to fame. In recent years he has been building up custom motorcycles, racing hooligan flat track, and raising money for the charity he started and leads, The Good Ride. The Good Ride is a touring rally/motorcycle ride that’s open to anyone who loves motorcycles, and gives 100 percent of proceeds to veterans in need. In 2020, it will host rides in Arizona, Las Vegas, and Sturgis, but the other awesome thing it does to help bring some money in is the annual Tanks for Troops auction.

Twenty-two artists are given half of an Indian FTR 1200 gas tank and donate their time and supplies to decorate the tank in any way they see fit to honor and raise money for troops. From patriotic themes to biomech—the artists went all-in on this and it shows in each and every piece displayed. The auction is now closed, but they were able to raise $28,000 over the course of the event.

While the auction may be closed, you can still donate to the charity, or head out to one of the three Good Ride rallies happening this year! Head to goodriderally.com to get more information.
