The new SIDI Tour Air Gore-Tex boots have the quality that you've come to expect from SIDI with a few added extras. The boot is crafted of top grain leather and has a waterproof, yet breathable Gore-Tex membrane. An Internal nylon shin plate, combined with internal heel, ankle, and toe protection will keep your feet protected should you find yourself rubber-side up. The no-frills design is built for the rider-- pure and simple. My favorite part about this boot is that they can be re-soled. So if you're like me and you ride every day, wearing out the sole won't mean that you need to fork out big bucks for a new set of boots.
Putting the boots on and taking them off was a breeze with only a zipper and velcro. There was enough velcro to tighten or loosen the boot as needed depending upon the rider's calf size. While riding, the boot did, as promised, provide excellent ventilation. My feet stayed cool and dry when it was hot, yet they were insulated enough to stay warm when temperatures dropped. There is sufficient arch support for walking short distances; but remember, this is a riding boot, not a hiking boot, so don't buy these expecting them to be comfortable on long hikes. Buy these if you want boots that will last you a long time and keep your feet comfortable in a wide range of riding conditions.
