Built on an exclusive ICON bottom unit, the athletic profile of the Truant belies its brute nature. A reinforced toe box and axialmetric steel shank provide the foundation for true riding legitimacy. Full grain leather chassis, semi-covered laces, and midfoot retention strap combine to round out the Truant’s moto performance pedigree. The Truant, a modern motorcycle boot cloaked in a street-savvy silhouette.
Icon 1000 Truant Boots are the perfect blend of great styling and excellent function. We received these riding boots in the Oiled Brown version, but they have them in a Johnny Black version as well. I personally like the Oiled Brown better. These boots were comfortable for me right out of the box, no break in required for my feet. The detailing on Icon 1000 Truants is superb. From the branded mid-foot retention strap, to the marked slip-resistant rubber soles.
The sizes seem to be true to there designation so worrying about off sizes is not an issue. For as comfortable as these boots are it is hard to imagine that they are in fact protective riding boots, but they most certainly are. With the internal ankle armor, slip-resistant rubber soles, Axialmetric steel shank, and a reinforced toe box, you can have piece of mind that these puppies will take care of you if it came down to it.
These are reinforced in all the right places and leave the vented sides to make walking in them a breeze. I don't need to take an extra pair of shoes to the office because these are comfortable enough for me to be in all day, on and off the bike. The fact that they look great doesn't hurt either. Icon did a great job on this boot, mixing the right amount of safety, comfort, and a whole lot of style, the Icon 1000 Truant would make anyone a happy camper.
