Yamaha's Yard Built program is a huge step in the right direction. They are getting shops and builders from all over the world involved in their design process. You will see bikes from well known shops like Roland Sands Designs and Deus, but Star Motorcycles has just wrapped up another contest for their dealerships here in the states. The Battle of the Bolts was open to all Star's dealers and had a total of 39 entries. The bobber we are focusing on here is from a shop in Glen Burnie, MD: Glen Burnie Motorsports. As participants in the battle, the guys at GBM set themselves apart with their build. They trimmed the fender mounts off of the front forks to clean up the look. Star lowering shocks in the rear helped achieve the stance they were going for and a Drag Specialties headlight lights the way. They also made a custom mounting bezel for the gauge and moved it down onto the air cleaner. The rear fender was cut and re-welded to fit around the new Avon Venom 180/70/16 rear tire, and they used a Low and Mean license plate relocation kit. We think that the bike looks great and deserved a little more than second place for their Northwest region.
