If you heard the news on Indian’s 2025 Chief family rollout, you know that a new model has joined the brand’s other big cruisers this year. The Sport Chief RT was announced as a new member of the series, and the brand wasted no time in celebrating the fresh design either, rolling out six custom builds it had commissioned based on the new RT. The so-called “First 6″ collection of club style customs were all crafted by select Indian Motorcycle dealers in Europe, and showcased at the Moto Bike Expo in Verona, Italy. All six bikes exploit the new RT’s aggressive style and attitude with the addition of custom finishes, and creative interpretations to enhance the bike’s performance cruiser roots. For Ola Stenegärd, director of design for Indian Motorcycle, the “First 6″ is a link to a key principle of the factory design team—that customizing is key.

“When we’re designing, we always [want]…to ensure that the bikes we produce are as easy to work on as we can make them. The ‘First 6′ really is the fruit of that process, and I’m totally blown away by the results,” Stenegärd said.

All the custom builds are based on the new Sport Chief RT, which adds saddlebags, a new 2-Up High Bolster seat, and PowerBand Audio Bluetooth audio to the Sport Chief base model, keeping the same 4-gallon tank, inverted fork, twin outboard shocks, and dual exhaust, with a burly Thunderstroke 116 (1,890cc) powerplant dominating the engine bay. A 4-inch TFT display powered by Ride Command is set behind the fork-mounted quarter fairing, as are moto-style bars on 6-inch risers. Like other 116-engine-equipped models, the Sport Chief RT has throttle-by-wire, cruise control, ABS, and selectable ride modes.
