This mid-year release from Harley-Davidson finally brings us a blacked-out Sportster with the bigger 1,200cc motor. Up until now, the Iron had been the only Sportster option from H-D rolling with blacked-out engine covers and black mags straight from the factory, and to this point it was only offered with the 883cc engine. With an MSRP of $9,999, the 2018 Iron 1200 is only $1,000 more than the Iron 883.
The Iron 1200 also differs aesthetically from its smaller 883 brother, of course. With the Iron 1200, you get black mini-ape handlebars tucked behind a small, fixed quarter fairing (or Speed Screen, as Harley calls it) as well as retro tank graphics. I think the black styling is still relevant, but I'm not sure it's as big a craze as it was five or so years ago. I suppose it's better late than never!
