Here is our 2016 Harley-Davidson Breakout build we recently did. The project started with a bone stock Breakout of course and we went through and changed up the look by getting rid of all the chrome by using a mixture of gloss black powdercoat and wrinkle black powdercoart. paired with the denim grey paint we think it came out pretty damn well. We also de-badged the tank so you could see the entire graphic design instead of the giant medallion that comes stock. At first we had the stock head pipes on with a pair of mufflers from Screamin' Eagle. It ran great, sounded nice and mellow but we saw Vance & Hines released a new exhaust late 2016, the Hi-Output Short 2-Into -1 (Available in Black or Chrome $749) and we had to get that.
I am a big fan of 2-into-1's and use them as often as possible in my builds. We used Vance & Hines' FP3 to remap the ECM for both the Screamin' Eagle mufflers and the new 2-Into-1. The numbers on the Dyno are not from stock to the new pipe they are from the Screamin' Eagle mufflers to the V&H 2-into-1. Also the FP3 has a built in Autotune feature and this was not used to get these numbers, these numbers are from the map for the pipe available through the FP3. Stay tuned for the Autotune numbers, we will be riding around over the next few weeks with the Autotune enabled and after we finish we will re-Dyno and provide you all with the new numbers. All in all this was a fun project bike, Personally I am not a big fan of the Breakout because of the 240 rear tire, but the owner loves it, and after all the work we did on it and especially with the new pipe, I can say I am absolutely a fan, aesthetically at least.
