Chicago Ponders City Helmet Law
There is no helmet law in Illinois, despite a rising death toll among motorcyclists in the state, but a recent spate of motorcycling crashes, injuries and deaths has Chicago mulling a helmet requirement for its streets. Until now, helmet laws have been the bailiwick of states. ABATE of Illinois has issue a press release (linked to below), saying it will fight it. Meanwhile, police are paying more attention to motorcyclists in the state.
