Seven Motorcycle Helmets Failed 2005 D.O.T. Tests, Two Recalled

Seven helmets tested by the NHTSA during 2005 failed to meet federal DOT standards for performance and protection, and two of those were recalled. By Art Friedman.

To pass DOT testing, helmets such as this AGV, must adequately absorb impacts in the lab that are much harsher than those the rider is likely to experience in a crash on the street.
